March 30th to April 7th, 2004.

Well, what started as a quick trip to visit a friend in Scotland, turned into a vacation in Rome!
Ha, strange the way things turn out.  Anyway. it was absolutely wonderful.
We enjoyed spending our time getting to know the finer parts of Italian
Coffee and Gelatto!

We had a totally and completely wonderful time...and without further
adieu from me... here are some pictures! Enjoy!!!
and if you get a chance?? GO! Caio

PS...please be patient.. it may take a moment for the pictures to load...
and I have no idea why they're scattered the way they are..
its annoying I know.. i'm workin on it!

The Colusseum At Night

We took great pleasure in taking
in the sights by moonlight! They
are all light up and absolutely
beautiful at night.
(yes mother we were safe!)

Our treck across the city

So, we stayed in two different hostels while in Rome.
And instead of paying stupid amounts for a taxi, or
taking the terribly crowded busses, we decided to walk
across the city. With our luggage! Well this would not
have been a problem had Kari and I not been the types
of people who like to stop and look at Everything we
pass!!! Including churches... and views like this!

Fountain at St. Peters

So after our treck across the city (which should have only taken 40 mins
...and took us more like 4hours) we took a much needed break, had lunch
at a wonderful little italian place, and then headed to St. Peters' square to
sit and relax and cool down for a bit!

Castle St. Angelo

We toured this 'little' castle, we enjoyed the views....
we always enjoyed the views... we're like that.... this is
Kari pondering her surroundings...

Kari and I at Castle St. Angelo

Classic "would you take a picture for us?" moment....

St. Peters and Kari

What a fabulous view... what more can i say?  This is from the top of the castle

Me! and the twin churches in Plazza de Popollo

So after our long treck across the city... a rejuvinating lunch we went to see Castle
St. Angelo, after that a walk to Plazza de Popollo, where this picture is taken,
we're sitting, we need a break... then as it was getting late and things were closing
we chose to walk through a park which overlooks this plazza, on the next page
you will get to see sunset pictures from our second night in Rome... its wonderful
to be young, I still can't believe i was actually there! And this is only end of day 2!
enjoy the rest of the pictures!
